Are you an experienced Direct Support Professional ready to step into a leadership role? Do you enjoy mentoring others while continuing to provide hands-on support?
RHD is seeking a dedicated Lead Direct Support Professional (LDSP) to support program operations and serve as a mentor to DSP staff, while continuing to provide high-quality, person-centered care to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and behavioral health needs.
This is a working leadership role — perfect for someone who leads by example.
What You’ll Do:
Staff Leadership & Mentorship:
- Support the Site Supervisor in daily program operations.
- Mentor, train, and coach Direct Support Professionals.
- Observe and provide feedback to ensure Individual Service Plans (ISPs) are implemented effectively.
- Model professionalism, positive communication, and trauma-informed care.
- Collaborate with management and internal departments to maintain high-quality service delivery.
Direct Care & Individual Support:
- Provide direct care in accordance with each individual’s ISP.
- Support skill-building and independent living development.
- Create and maintain organized, structured environments tailored to individuals’ needs.
- Ensure services meet all state, local, and federal regulations.
Program Operations:
- Assist management in preparing for daily program operations.
- Help maintain organized systems within assigned homes.
- Support compliance and quality assurance efforts.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- At least 2 years of experience supporting individuals with IDD and/or mental health needs.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
- Basic computer skills (email, documentation systems, time entry).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass required employment screenings, including FBI clearance (if applicable).
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in participants’ homes.
- Position includes direct care, mentorship, and operational responsibilities.
- Flexible scheduling may be required.
