RHD is seeking compassionate, reliable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide hands-on support to individuals living in community-based homes.
As a DSP, you will play a vital role in helping individuals live safely, independently, and with dignity while achieving their personal goals.
What You’ll Do:
Direct Care & Support:
- Provide supervision and support in accordance with each individual’s Person-Centered Support Plan.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and toileting as needed.
- Administer medications in accordance with training and program guidelines.
- Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
- Support individuals in accessing medical care, benefits, and community resources.
- Encourage healthy, socially appropriate behaviors through positive reinforcement and structured support.
Community Integration:
- Assist individuals in participating in community activities and social events.
- Promote independence and skill-building in home and community settings.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to implement residential interventions.
Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities:
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who You Are
You are patient, dependable, and respectful. You understand the importance of dignity, safety, and person-centered care. You are comfortable working in participants’ homes and supporting individuals with diverse behavioral health needs.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Prior experience in human services preferred.
- Basic computer skills (email, documentation systems, time entry).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must pass required background screenings (including FBI clearance, if applicable).
Work Environment:
- Work is performed in participants’ homes and community settings.
- Role may include lifting, personal care assistance, and transportation.
- Flexible scheduling may be required.
