Assistant Program Director
New Program Launch – Leadership Opportunity
Salary: $65,000 annually
We are excited to launch a new program and are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Program Director (APD) to join our leadership team. This is a unique opportunity to help shape a growing program while supporting staff and ensuring high-quality, ethical services for individuals served.

What You’ll Do:
Leadership & Staff Management:
- Provide supervision and support to Site Supervisors, Program Specialists, Medical Staff, and Direct Support Professionals.
- Oversee daily operations and ensure consistent implementation of individual service plans.
- Partner in recruitment efforts, including interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new staff.
- Support staff training, development, and performance management, including progressive discipline when necessary.
- Model professionalism, accountability, and alignment with organizational values.
Quality Assurance & Compliance:
- Review documentation in preparation for internal and external audits.
- Support compliance with licensing, regulatory, and funder requirements.
- Ensure services are delivered ethically, professionally, and in accordance with agency standards.
Program Operations & Crisis Support:
- Assist the Program Director in maintaining operational and financial compliance.
- Provide leadership and intervention during crisis situations.
- Foster an environment that empowers individuals through skill development and coordinated resources.
- Contribute to strategic program growth and operational excellence.
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field (required).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mental health and/or IDD direct service.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and documentation standards.
- Effective communicator with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle.
- Ability to pass required employment screenings, including FBI clearance (if applicable).
